Survey Party Chief –  Fort Lauderdale / SFO Office

Miller Legg, a family oriented and award winning multi-disciplinary consulting firm, is seeking an experienced full-time Party Chief to join the Survey Department in the Miami-Dade, Florida office.

Responsibilities include heading up a field survey crew, which is responsible for creating surveys for construction, topographic, right-of-way, and control survey tasks.  Also, the Party Chief oversees surveying work and offers input and expertise, trains the survey crew on using surveying equipment and conducts proper mapping.  The Party Chief leads the crew, making sure that their work is accurate.

Qualifications include excellent communication skills in order to develop relationships with the many parties involved in a project. The Party Chief is responsible for coordinating and supervising all survey tasks until finished.

Candidate must be able to work overtime as required.  Must also have a valid Driver’s License and pass a background check and drug test.

High school graduate with some college is preferred.

Instrument Operator –  Fort Lauderdale / SFO Office

Miller Legg, a family oriented and award winning multi-disciplinary consulting firm, is currently seeking an experienced Instrument Operator to join our Surveying department in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami-Dade area.

Responsibilities include assisting the Party Chief with the daily crew workload, supervising the survey crew in the absence of the Party Chief, taking daily care and charging of the instrumentation and continually advancing knowledge with upgrades in technology.

Candidate must have 3 years of survey instrument operation experience, a high school diploma (minimum), good mathematical skills, good communication skills, and be physically able to work outdoors and on survey sites under all weather conditions.

Candidate must be able to work overtime as required and occasionally be willing to travel for extended periods for out of town work.  Must also have a valid Driver’s License and pass a background check and drug test.

Civil Engineering CAD Designer –  Fort Lauderdale / SFO Office

Miller Legg is looking for a Civil Engineering CAD Designer to join its South Florida team! This is a key position for a technologist who will collaborate with engineers and use drafting and design tools to bring client’s ideas to fruition. Types of projects include site development for healthcare and higher education campuses, private and commercial developments and infrastructure improvements.


  • Must have 3 – 5 years’ experience in site development (consulting firm experience is a plus)

SENIOR SURVEYOR-  Fort Lauderdale / SFO Office

Miller Legg, a family oriented and award winning multi-disciplinary consulting firm, is seeking an experienced full-time Sr. Surveyor to join the Survey Department in the Fort Lauderdale / Miami-Dade, Florida area.

This position requires a skilled land surveyor who does office supervisory work related to all phases of the surveying requirements for Florida Department of Transportation projects.  The Senior Surveyor will manage our F.D.O.T. clients.

Candidate must have significant surveying and mapping experience working with F.D.O.T. District 4 & 6, other governmental entities and experience with boundary, topographic, land title surveys, mapping projects and rights-of-way surveying.

Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) registered in the State of Florida is a plus.

5-10 years of highway design experience in various transportation projects to work as a Design Engineer on Municipal/FDOT projects.


  • Establish client relations

CIVIL ENGINEER –  Fort Lauderdale / SFO Office

Miller Legg is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer in its Fort Lauderdale office.

The ideal candidate has experience designing Water and Sewer Systems, Roadway, Drainage, and Land Development projects. Work will require independent problem solving, decision making and the implementation of standard engineering procedures to direct the flow of engineering work.

Experience with local regulatory agency requirements and permitting is a plus. Must be able to work in a team setting and managing various tasks from multiple engineering projects.


  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain one within 3 years
  • Extensive knowledge of local, state, and national codes and design practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD 3D, experience with MicroStation a plus
  • Must be able to design and analyze water and sewer systems, pavement, grading, drainage, signing and pavement markings as well as prepare engineering reports with calculations to support the design
  • Excellent technical writing, verbal, and communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong people and team skills
  • Knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

We need professionals to join our Landscape Architecture team! The successful candidate will prepare or supervise landscape plans and construction documents, including plans, details, quantities, notes and size specifications, that complement the site design, define boundaries and achieve the public or private client’s objectives and vision based on conceptual design and existing site plans. It will be necessary to attend meetings with clients and agencies including outdoor site visits, inspections and reports. Knowledge of Florida plant material. All positions require occasional travel throughout the State of Florida.


  • Licensed to practice in Florida
  • Minimum 10 years post licensure experience or Florida Registered Landscape Architect exam eligible with 2 to 5 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of Landscape Designer / Landscape Architect skills
  • Project and staff supervisory skills including estimating project budgets and resource management skills
  • Skills needed are: Microstation, AutoCAD, LandFX, Adobe Suites, Microsoft Office
  • FDOT design criteria and standards and 3D program knowledge is a plus
  • Must possess good communication and time management skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment
