Florida Atlantic University (FAU) & University of Florida (UF) Joint Use Facility
Miller Legg was a subconsultant to Shenkel Schultz on this project located in the Town of Davie. Our engineering and landscape architecture departments provided services including engineering plans and permitting, stormwater management plan, irrigation design, landscape design and construction phase services. The Facility was designed to meet LEED Silver certification, but achieved Gold. The new building was delivered using BIM. Key components of the LEED Gold certification include the use of a native plant palette, low volume irrigation systems, and site furnishings largely composed of recycled materials. Existing vegetation was left in place and transplanted to the greatest extent possible in order to maintain habitats for wildlife and maintain trees with great character.
