PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – Sandra Smith, PE, LEED AP, Principal of Miller Legg’s St. Lucie Office, was recently appointed to Miller Legg’s Leadership Council. As such, she joins other senior members of the company to lead the firm, serve in an advisory capacity to the President, and guide implementation of the vision of the Board of Directors. Smith has more than 17 years of professional engineering and project management experience, 12 of which have been at Miller Legg.
Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology in 1993. She has held numerous local and state board positions with the Florida Engineering Society including being named as Florida Young Engineer of the Year in 2004. She also serves as Chair of the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers (FICE) Professional Practices Committee. In addition, she has previously served as chair of the Economic Indicators Committee for the Martin Economic Council, has volunteered for worthy causes such as Habitat for Humanity, Waterway Cleanup, and is a member of the local Foster and Adoptive Parents Association.
Miller Legg is a statewide multi-disciplined consulting firm with approximately 100 staff in more than six offices offering civil engineering, traffic engineering, surveying, subsurface utility engineering (SUE), planning, landscape architecture, environmental consulting and environmental risk management services.
