North Andrews Gardens Neighborhood Improvement Project
Broward County, Florida
North Andrews Gardens is a 730-acre community located in Broward County, which has been annexed into the City of Oakland Park, for which a 10-year neighborhood improvement project is currently in progress.
Services provided in the first phase of the project included a Basis of Design Report (BODR) which evaluated the existing conditions and recommended engineering and landscape architecture solutions.
The design and construction administration portions of the project include the design, modeling of water distribution system, sanitary sewer transmission system and stormwater system, construction/contract administration and public information, permitting of the water, sanitary sewer, drainage and roadway improvements, surveying, preparation of bidding documents, as well as the design of landscaping and entry sign features for the neighborhood.
Additional services provided by ML include SFWMD and BCDUPR surface water permitting and FDOT permitting.
Surveying services included control surveys for aerial photography-tied USGS monumentation, right-of-way surveys, and topographic surveys.
Miller Legg assisted Broward County in obtaining approval for $4 million of grant money from FEMA for the drainage improvements portion of the project.
