Volunteer Park Wetland Regional Off-Site Mitigation Area
Plantation, Florida
The purpose of this project was to restore and create wetland mitigation areas within a City park within a 1,000-acre community known as Plantation Acres, located in Plantation. This mitigation area will serve as a Consolidated Off-Site Mitigation Area to compensate for future impacts to all remaining wetlands present within undeveloped parcels in Plantation Acres.
The 73-acre Volunteer Park site is located at the southwest corner of Sunrise Boulevard and NW 118th Avenue.

- Mapping of remaining jurisdictional wetlands within the City park and 1,000-acre community
- Wetland and habitat functional evaluations of wetlands within the City park and community
- Mitigation calculations
- Wetland restoration mitigation design
- Permitting of wetland impacts and consolidated mitigation area through Broward County Department of Planning and Environmental Protection and the Army Corps of Engineers
- Development of credit distribution mechanism and cost recovery for the City of Plantation
