Mark Brandenburg, CSE, GTA, Principal Biologist at Miller Legg, was one of three presenters featured in the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals (FAEP) Gopher Tortoise Webinar on September 15, 2026.

His presentation provided valuable insights into the gopher tortoise permitting process, including assessments, permit requirements, and relocation strategies for these endangered Florida animals. Drawing on more than 25 years of experience with gopher tortoise surveys and relocations, Mark shares practical knowledge and real-world perspectives on working with this protected species.

We hope this experience can connect fellow environmental professionals in establishing safe habitats and relocations for these tortoises.
