Miami-Dade Biscayne Everglades Greenway

Miami-Dade County Biscayne Everglades Greenway Segment D Phase 2

The proposed Biscayne Everglades Greenway originated to provide a pedestrian link between Biscayne National Park and Everglades National Park in Miami-Dade County and will be constructed in phases. The Miller Legg team is providing civil and traffic engineering, surveying, Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), environmental and permitting services for the 2.5-mile paved bicycle/pedestrian trail/roadway Segment D portion of the Biscayne Everglades Greenway project. This segment will be constructed and maintained by Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department. The civil scope of services includes the design of paving, grading and drainage, design of pavement markings and signage, permitting with the City of Homestead, South Florida Water Management District, Miami-Dade County and Florida Department of Transportation and bidding assistance.

The environmental work consists of preparation of both an Environmental Natural Resource Field Survey Report and a National Environmental Policy Act Categorical Exclusion report. Topographic and route surveying and SUE are to be performed. Traffic engineering includes a traffic study, a possible traffic signal, permitting and post design services.
