Project Description

Biscayne Boulevard Streetscape (FDOT) District 6

For three sections of the award-winning historic Biscayne Boulevard roadway in the City of Miami, Miller Legg prepared tree removal and relocation for current roadway construction, as well as future planting, hardscape, and site amenity documents.

The first phase of this ± 3 mile project was from 5th Street to 13th Street, in downtown Miami including the American Airlines Arena and the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts.  Phase two was from 36th Street to 67th Street, and phase three from 67th Street to 87th Street.

This project required coordination with the Miami Downtown Development Agency (DDA), collection of field data, documentation of the information in graphic and text formats, and coordination of the proposed improvements with local municipalities and community associations.

This five-year Biscayne Boulevard revitalization project was part of a multi-year continuing service contract with FDOT District 6.

And, it was recognized by the Florida Section of the American Society of Landscape Architects for Outstanding Design.
